Oldsmobile Toronado RV
GM had a motor home with the Toronado front wheel drive train but this one uses the front of Toronado as well. Very nice. Found on eBay

Ultra Low Miles Austin Marina GT
In North America the Morris Marina was badged with the Austin named. There where a few sold and very few survivors today. This one might just the world’s best export market Marina GT. Speaking of the GT it is basically the same as a home market Marina TC with the MG B’s twin carburetor 1.8L B-series engine. The extra weight over the A-series engine is reputed to give it lots of under steer however. I love the oddness of the random cat picture thrown in at the end. Continue reading

Pontiac YellowBird
I recently came across a 1980 Pontiac YellowBird in Calgary. I seem to recall seeing a few Skybirds (the blue one – they couldn’t call it BlueBird due that name was in use by the bus company) when growing up and perhaps a few YellowBirds but none lately. There was also a red one called RedBird. I’d forgotten about them as I suspect most had. They are not performance packages so probably over shadowed by the Trans Ams but they are very visually distinctive. They are also interesting in that they where likely aimed at the female market with the feminine styling touches. Continue reading
