Every year in Lethbridge we have the Street Wheelers weekend which is a three day festival for car junkies. People flock into town to help celebrate. It is all kicked off with a Friday night cruise. Years ago it was a wild affair with burn outs and impromptu drag races but these days it is a controlled event with a major street shutdown just for the participants. Show and shines are great but it is fantastic to hear the cars as well as see them in motion.
1954 Studebaker Commander Coupe with a Chevrolet LT1 V8 engine swapped in.
A first generation Pontiac Tempest (1961 – 1963) which would have originally had the rope drive rear transaxle. This one looks to be converted to a drag car.
A Plymouth Superbird with the lights up sitting next to the cruise.
70s Toyota Celica in flat black – this one has a Lexus V8 swapped in.
Just a normal everyday sight – a dragster next to a dune buggy … 🙂
There was a lady with a pink sign at the side asking for a burn out. The girls in the Ford Model A replica gave a toot of their ooga horn and said that was all it had. Not sure what the story on the replica is.
Here is a rarity -a Canadian market 1959 Monarch II Lucerne sedan.
