Hyundai Stellar Spotting Guide

Description: The Hyundai Stellar was a conventional, front engine, rear wheel drive mid size sedan with styling by Giorgetto Giugiaro. The chassis was based on the Ford Cortina Mk V with a choice of 1.4L or 1.6L Mitsubishi four cylinder engines. Front grill and bumper styling differs slightly depending on the year and market sold in. All Canadian cars of the time period have sealed beam headlights and big impact bumpers. Most other markets have flush headlamps with the earliest models having a horizontal bar grill then switching later to a mesh style grill.

Description: In 1987 the Stellar was revised into the Stellar II or Stellar 2.0 in Canada with redesigned headlights, tail lights strut front suspension and a larger 2.0L four cylinder engine again by Mitsubishi. Was only sold in Canada for 1987.
