Air cooled VW guys will seemingly go to insane lengths to get their hands on the early stuff. A while back there was a Samba bus pulled from a Lake. Now someone (Norway again!) has dug out Kubelwagen via Hemming Blog.
The story goes that Kubelwagens were used as daily drivers in Norway after WW2 and the Germans had left. Naturally after they wore out and most were scrapped. This one however was used to help fill in a ditch before being leveled with gravel. A motor bike side car was used as well at the same location.
It doesn’t look like they plan to restore the Volkswagen but did the whole thing for fun. It will perhaps make some nice garage art.
There are some more photos over at their blog.

That’s things pretty Gone I do say
The Europeans can save some pretty far gone stuff but I’d agree this one is done.
Hello everybody.
And, of course, we have a Kubelwagen identity up for sale…..
You`re right, the car is done. It will not be restored. But……… the front suspension, front screen frame, rear shockabsorbers, gear shifter, steering wheel, door locks, and maybe doors will all go into Kent`s other Kubel, and my WWII Beetle-project.
Regards Anders.
